Position: Project Manager – Education
Reporting to: State Programme Manager / Programme officer (Education)

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Post-graduate qualifications in education or social work/social science and graduate qualifications in education
Experience: 
— A minimum of four years of experience working in a similar role, with a specific focus on technical capacity building and training.
— Experience of working with public education systems is required

Skills required:
— Knowledge of national and state level government policies and programmes related to education
— Excellent interpersonal, MS office and communication skills (both verbal and written) in Hindi and English.
— Knowledge of Telugu would be preferred.
— Self-driven and highly motivated, with a commitment to improving the quality of life of marginalized communities, and willingness to work within a team.

The Foundation’s education vision is to improve the quality of learning opportunities to all sections of society while also supporting government institutions to improve the quality of education being provided in government schools and in government ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) centres. The Project Manager (Education) will be responsible for programme management to ensure quality and effectiveness of all education projects. The position will lead the education programme teams, with support from the AKF Delhi office, as well as coordinate with other relevant stakeholders at the local and state level.

Roles and Responsibilities:
— Lead and steer the education programme teams towards defined objectives in close consultation with the donor and other project partners, and with inputs and technical support from the AKF Delhi office.
— Contribute to the development of annual work plans and budgets for the programme and ensure their effective implementation through regular field monitoring visits.
— Build the capacity of the field team and other stakeholders based on programme needs and requirements, and provide regular guidance and technical inputs to strengthen programme quality and reach.
— Ensure timely preparation and submission of MIS data, narrative and financial project progress reports and budgets to the AKF (India) senior management and donor. Ensure that management and stakeholders are updated regularly on project progress
— Ensure programme efficacy, identify and mobilize external technical assistance in close consultation with the AKF Delhi office, and respond to community, programme and donor requirements.
— Ensure regular exchange of knowledge, good practices, case studies and lessons learned among team members, government counterparts and other partners. Keep track of new developments and best practices in the education sector and facilitate adoption by the programme.
— Liaise with civil society organizations, including NGOs and government departments, to build and strengthen strategic partnerships that will contribute to the achievement of education programme objectives.
— Carry out any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Remuneration: Rs 3.5 to 4 lacs per annum depending upon experience
