Position: Program Head – Livelihood
Reporting to: CEO
Staffs reporting to: Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager and members of Program Support team

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Master degree in Social science, Social work, Business administration or any related field.
Experience: 7-8 years of work experience with 3 years in Senior Management role. Work experience in urban livelihood program preferred.

Skills required: 
— Excellent communication (both written and oral) skill in English, Hindi and Marathi (desirable).
— Good knowledge in computer application i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
— Basic data analysis skills
— People management skill.

Job Overview: The Program Head (Livelihood) is a senior managerial position. As a Program lead, develops over all strategies and plans; builds a team to facilitate livelihood program with an underserved community in line with the organization’s vision and mission of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:
> Aspiration of youth and other community members: These job responsibilities include
— To identify the needs of young and other community members, develop, implement and evaluate programs that can assist them.
— To ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth and other members in community for success in life.
— To ensure effective systems to track youth development and outcomes.
— To identify and reach out to community partners to create programming opportunities, build partnerships with volunteers, other organizations that provide services to the youth and others in the community.
— To supervise all activities and ensure progress in the youth development program.

> Employability: These job responsibilities include
— To ensure need based vocational training program are conceptualized, rolled out and monitored in implementation area.
— To ensure vocational training programs are maintained up to date in terms of standards and evidence based.
— To plan, organize and manage skill development programs, liaising with internal units, training providers and employees to ensure that trainings are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
— To act as the focal point for liaison with organization, companies for aid, services and jobs for trained youth, adolescents and others.

> Linkage to government scheme and advocacy: These job responsibilities include
— To explore about different government schemes that can provide benefit to youth and others in the community.
— To disseminate information on government schemes with local youth, youth organization, elected representatives in the community.
— To liaise with government bodies for application of various schemes in implementation areas.
— To ensure linkage between eligible persons in the community and designated authority is established to avail benefit of various government schemes.

> Entrepreneurship: These job responsibilities include
— To establish community-managed livelihood resource centres to support livelihood and business development.
— To identify and develop partnership with organizations, training institutions for training on small business development, micro-credit, financial planning and on inclusive approach.
— To provide guidance for marketing of products of SHG established in the community.

> Team Management: These job responsibilities include
— To ensure optimal staffing of the project, project compliance with human resource policies.
— To promote and facilitate capacity building and development of staffs and volunteers.
— To develop KRA for the team members, appraise performance annually and provide feedback and coaching for personal growth of the staff.
— To perform any other work related to duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO from time to time.

> Senior Management role (organizational): These job responsibilities include
— To develop coherent work plans and budgets for all activities in the program portfolio and continuous follow up on spending (budget versus actual).
— To ensure timely and adequate reporting against plans including providing timely and articulate progress reports and to provide inputs to strategic planning and annual report.
— To participate in internal control mechanisms for adherence Apnalaya rules and regulations in contracts, assets and procurement.
— To coordinate with Program Heads of other units, maintain a healthy working relationship internal stakeholders and ensure smooth working of livelihood team.
