Position: Teacher Educator

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification:
— Candidate could be a practicing teacher who is teaching teachers or if you are already a college or university faculty, or a school teacher with a high level of subject expertise.
— A graduate / postgraduate degree in one of these subjects (Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Languages – Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil)
Experience: 3+ years of work experience in education (Teaching, pedagogy, development, cultivation of thoughts, ) including some direct involvement in schools

Skills required:
— Openness to learn
— Passion for education and social change
— Ability to participate in team work
— Willingness to travel within the district / state
— Proficiency in English / Tamil

Job Overview: Faculty in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Languages (English / Tamil). You will be involved in building the capacity of the teachers.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The main job responsibilities for this position are as below:
> Develop a community of teachers that is interested in improving the quality of learning for children through
— Peer learning- To work in groups with teachers and discuss on different subject specific topics as per the curriculum
— Collaborative work – working along with teachers to organize workshops and melas
— Reflective practice – Review of activities and workshops conducted, preparation of reports on field activities

Community of teachers are developed through mobilization, conducting workshops, education melas, Voluntary teacher forums, School Leadership Development Programs etc.,
> Develop subject resources like charts on related topics, material development, Videos on workshop topics etc., for facilitating deeper interest and understanding among children
> Conduct programs for continuous professional development of teachers covering areas
— The aims and nature of education,
— Subject content,
— Pedagogy and assessment
