Hyderabad: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Southern Region Transmission System-I (SRTS-I), Secunderabad signed an Memorandum of Understanding with National Academy of Construction (NAC), Hyderabad, on Monday, for placement linked skill development training programmes for 390 underprivileged and unemployed youth in the State.
Power Grid is contributing Rs 1,10,55,000 under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with NAC.
As part of the MoU, NAC will offer various skill development programmes such as masonry, plumbing, bar bending, painting and decoration, electrical house wiring, welding, general works supervisor, land surveyor, curtain and garment stitching at NACs 31 centres in the State.
The selection of candidates will be jointly done by Power Grid and NAC from the applications received. This initiative will benefit the unemployed youth aged between 18 years and 35 years, who are struggling to earn a livelihood.
