Bangkok : Thailand’s Ministry of Labour has kicked off its nationwide skill development programme for community enterprises and low-income earners, which aims to strengthen the grassroots economy and raise the quality of life for the impoverished.
Labour Minister, Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, inaugurated the program, which is a collaborative effort by the Department of Skill Development and community leaders to identify occupational demands by region and organize skill training accordingly.
Training programs consist of 18 to 30 short sessions on specific vocations, such as making furniture from car tires, resin and wood. The ministry aims to train over 61,000 people nationwide.
