Position: Head – Content Development and Training
Reporting to: Executive Director
Location: Delhi
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Education or relevant social sciences
Experience:
— 10-15 years of experience of working in the development sector with minimum 3 years in the senior management role
— Previous experience in content and curriculum development
Skills required:
— Knowledge of government policies in education at elementary and secondary levels including thorough understanding of RTE.
— Ability to analyze and design interventions that address specific aspects of change in the area of operations
— Knowledge of the social reality (with special reference to education), its causes and implications in the area of operations
— Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi and also working knowledge in one language of Eastern India.
— Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization.
— Ability to work collaboratively in a demanding environment with timelines
— Deep understanding of pedagogies that facilitates learning among children of marginalized communities
— Willing to travel
This role is envisaged for developing innovative and appropriate Pedagogy and Content that promotes contextualized early childhood and primary education for the marginalized children. H/she will also build capacities of staff of both NEG-FIRE as well as grass-root level partner NGOs in the pedagogical theories, curriculum/content development framework, TLM, etc. for effective delivery to improve quality of teaching and learning and to accelerate children’s learning and performances.
Roles and Responsibilities:
— Develop Content Development Framework with Pedagogical perspective for NEG-FIRE
— To assess the learning barriers among NEG-FIRE project participants ( pre-school and primary school children) and develop appropriate teaching-learning materials (TLMs)
— To include traditional learning strategies of tribal, dalits and other marginalized communities and develop appropriate processes and materials (art, aesthetics, culture etc.) that promotes learning
— Review the existing materials (NEG-FIRE) of Math and Language subjects and develop worksheets, lesson plans, assessment sheets for children and teachers.
— To develop quality content on Math and Language subjects and support partners and NEG- staff for its delivery to improve quality of teaching and learning and to accelerate children’s learning and performances.
— Contribute to capacity development of NEG-FIRE and partner organization on pedagogy / classroom processes to ensure effective implementation on developed contents
— Develop Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual (MT-MLE) tool kits along with its pilot testing and providing support to partners on its implementation.
— Ensure that experiences, best practices and innovations in all programs are shared internally and externally and to make NEG-FIRE a learning organization.
Remuneration: INR 9.00 lakhs to 12.00 lakhs CTC per annum, depends upon the overall competencies, qualifications and no. of years of relevant work experience.
