Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has laid the foundation stone of the first world-class educational institute for the poor, backward and minorities in Kohrapipli village in Alwar district of Rajasthan that will provide education in technical, medical, ayurveda, Unani and job-oriented skill development courses. “The first world-class educational institute in Alwar will prove to be a milestone for affordable, accessible and quality education to the poor and weaker sections, including minorities,” Naqvi said.
The institute will become operational by 2020 and will provide 40 per cent reservation for girls, as proposed by the Minority Affairs Ministry. The national institute will come up on a 15 acre plot of land in Kohrapipli village provided by the Rajasthan government. Naqvi lauded efforts of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and thanked the state government for providing the land for the construction of the institute.
As per reports, Ministry has constituted a three-member committee consisting of ministry’s officials and members of the Maulana Azad Education Foundation to chalk out the details of the national institute in Alwar. World class skill development centre, educational facilities for primary and higher studies, Ayurveda and Unani science as well as sports facilities, will be established at the institute, Naqvi said.
The detailed project report will be prepared regarding construction and other aspects of the institute that will be established through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, reports said. Naqvi said because of Prime Minister Modi’s educational empowerment programmes, the school dropout rate among Muslim girls has been reduced to 35-40 per cent from 70 per cent. “Our goal is to bring it down to zero per cent,” the minister said.
