Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi to inaugurate newly constructed Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Arong

Port Blair : The Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly constructed Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Arong, Car Nicobar, during his visit to these islands on the 30th of this month. The institute will offer six job roles under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2.0 State Component in the sector of Construction, Automotive and IT-ITES etc. The Administration also plans to introduce new trades under Craftsman Training scheme (CTS) with total intake of 183 seats from 2019 academic year also take continuous efforts for up-skilling our students/youths as well as all general public to enhance their knowledge and to improve employability

The Administration has always emphasized on skill development to the youth to make each and every person of these islands to get skilled in niche areas to enhance their employability and to have better standard of life. The administration has made many efforts in this direction such as convergence of skill development activities for focussed implementation with definite result, opening of capacity building centres, up-skilling of general populous as well as organizing job fair for getting employment. As part of its efforts, the administration constructed the new Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Arong under centrally sponsored Multi Sectoral Development Plan (MSDP) for development of minorities to improve skill development programme to the tribal Youth of these islands particularly the Nicobari population, according to an official release.
