In a major move to bridge the gap between traditional mechanical skills and future-ready engineering, the Capital Goods and Strategic Skill Council (CGSSC) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bangalore.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Ms. Shalini Singh, CEO, Capital Goods & Strategic Skill Council (CGSSC), and Dr. Nagahanumaiah, Director, Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI).
Why CMTI? Based in the tech hub of Bangalore, CMTI is a powerhouse of Research & Development. By partnering with CGSSC, these R&D capabilities will be translated into actionable, high-impact training modules for the Indian workforce.
Core Pillars of the Partnership
The collaboration is built on four strategic pillars designed to address the most critical pain points in the current manufacturing ecosystem:
- Advanced Manufacturing & Precision Engineering: Moving beyond the basics to master the high-tolerance, high-complexity production techniques required in modern aerospace, defense, and automotive sectors.
- Training of Trainer (ToT) Programs: Ensuring that the instructors themselves are masters of the latest tech. This creates a “multiplier effect,” where CMTI’s expertise trickles down to thousands of students across the country.
- Industry Relevant Infrastructure: Developing state-of-the-art labs and training facilities that mirror the actual environments of top-tier manufacturing plants.
- Academia-Industry Linkages: Closing the loop between what is taught in institutes and what is required on the factory floor, ensuring students are ready since day one.
A Vision for an Industry-Ready India
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for CGSSC. Our mission has always been clear – to create a workforce that doesn’t just keep up with modern manufacturing but leads it.
By combining CGSSC’s reach and ecosystem knowledge with CMTI’s technical brilliance, we are setting a new benchmark for vocational excellence in India. We aren’t just teaching people how to work machines; we are empowering them to innovate within the factories of the future.
This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to the *Make in India* initiative, ensuring that our human capital is as advanced as the technology they operate.
