Position: Delhi State Lead – Employability Program

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Social Work/Rural Management
Experience:
— Minimum 7-8 year’s work experience preferably in skills development and livelihood sector.
— Experience of managing projects, tight deadlines and teams of people for at least 3 years
— Experience in managing M&E and project finances
— Prior experience of working in New Delhi would be preferred

Skills required: 
— Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
— Excellent networking skills
— Excellent command of Hindi and English
— Excellent IT skills
— Ability and interest to train facilitators and youths
— Knowledge of issues in youth employability and the social development sector in India.
— Should be willing to travel 1-2 weeks a month

The scope of the Program: QUEST’s Employability program’s objective is to provide a holistic development opportunity for young people by giving them tools and know how to become self-learners and navigate their personal and professional lives with confidence.

QUEST is a knowledge partner for scalable solutions in the Vocational Training and Youth Employability sector. We use content, pedagogy and technology, to drive the delivery of teaching and learning. Through our signature blended learning approach we develop critical life-work skills that are critical for success in the 21st century. Our curriculum includes media elements like games, videos, audio and visuals as well as use of dictionaries for vernacular translations.

Over the last 5 years we have reached more than 50,000 and endeavour to reach the next 100,000 till 2017. QUEST has partnered with some leading CSRs in the skills development space and has catalysed the investment of more than Rs. 100 million towards projects for various partner organizations.

Objectives Of The Program:
— To create opportunities for young people to gain strong foundational skills (Conversational English, Life Skills & Work Skills) and domain knowledge to enhance knowledge, skills and attitude of learners and facilitators for growth and success
— To work closely with NGOs and I.T.Is and support them in adoption of blended learning approach for their students. A “blended” learning approach which combines the use of digital content with trainer-led group activities and other, resulting in a more engaged learning process
— To equip partner organizations and training centers with a learning management system to enhance teaching-learning processes. Amongst other things this includes building the capacity of trainers and project teams to use data meaningfully both to improve classroom quality and manage quality across various centers.
— Create a seamless system to help partners and centres connect with the industry (employers) and generate work opportunities for the youth.

Roles and Responsibilities: The State lead-Delhi will work as part of the Employability program team and coordinate with other members of the QUEST team to ensure efficient and effective implementation of projects undertaken by QUEST Alliance.

Role 1: Lead and grow Quest’s work in New Delhi and NCR region

— Using consultative approach develop the New Delhi state strategy
— Lead the context analysis process
— Initiate relationships with potential partners- NGOs, I.T.Is, State Govt, Donors
— Manage and strengthen relationships with partners
— Identify new opportunities for QUEST
— Develop relationship with State government heads relating to the projects
— Manage 1-2 key donor relationships
— Develop a strong connect with industry (employers for our students)

Role 2: Program Management

— Develop and implement the annual work-plan for the state
— Ensure systems and processes work in coherence, towards the intended outputs and outcomes
— Oversee the delivery and effectiveness of our training and deliver training as required
— Work with the monitoring and evaluation focal persons and Program Manager to strengthen monitoring tools, documentation and evaluations
— Make regular planned visits to the field to support the work of our partners and to interact with the trainers and students
— Support projects’ documentation and reporting

Role 3: Management of Program Staff in New Delhi

— Ensure effective personnel and performance management of Staff
— Identify and address capacity building needs of the project team to ensure high performance
— Ensure effective communication between Program staff, the Program Manager and Sr. Manager, through formal reports and regular program meetings
— Ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures within the New Delhi State Team

Role 4: Managing budgets

— Development and management of program budget
— Monitor program budget to ensure that the spending is kept within the budgeted amount
— Ensure that the existing finance procedures and policies are complied with

Role 5: Other

— Other duties as required, sometimes requiring work on weekends, for which time off in lieu can be taken
— Be a role model to other staff of Quest Alliance–upholding the values of Quest Alliance
