Srinagar : With the aim to encourage youth to celebrate the value of acquiring skills & creating a way to achieve personal success and fulfillment, J&K Skill Development Mission & its affiliated training providers observed World Youth Skills Day today across the state.
A United Nation resolution to establish a World Youth Skills Day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 2014 and every year on 15 July, World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) is celebrated across the world to raise awareness about the importance of youth skills development. This year’s WYSD theme is “Learning to learn for life and work”.
In order to raise awareness about WYSD, J&K Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) through its 54 affiliated training partners organized debates, seminars, inspirational speeches and cultural programs to celebrate the occasion and explored ways on engaging youth towards skill development.

Mission Director, J&K Skill Development Mission participated in a WYSD program organized at Pulwama while as JKSDM staff also participated in events in central, north and south Kashmir and in Jammu district.
“The programs highlighted the importance of skill development in providing youth opportunities to develop their competencies and accelerate their transition to work,” said JKSDM official.
“Apart from creating awareness on skill development, youth were encouraged to participate in the process of developmeint and avail the different training opportunities,” said JKSDM official.
Currently, more than 50 training providers affiliated with J&K Skill Development Mission are providing quality skill training to the youth of the state.
