South Korean delegation proposed to provide jobs to 10,000 Punjabi youth every year in India and abroad : Charanjit Singh Channi

Chandigarh : A delegation from South Korea on Monday called on Punjab technical education and industrial training minister Charanjit Singh Channi to explore opportunities of providing skill training and employment to Punjabi youth at both home and abroad.

The delegation included Seong G Kim, head of Daora Trading Company, and Hee Seung Kang, chief executive officer (CEO) of Biotrack International.

The minister said the South Korean delegation proposed to provide job avenues to 10,000 youth from Punjab every year and proposed opening up a centre for teaching Korean language in the state.

Channi said those qualifying the level-1 test conducted twice a year by the South Korean embassy would get three-year work visa for the country. Channi said the state government is considering the proposal and an agreement will be signed soon.

Additional chief secretary MP Singh, director technical education Praveen Thind, general manager, Punjab Skill Development Mission Sukhwinder Singh and Biotrack International proprietor Vinod Manchanda were also present.
