United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites various stakeholders to submit their proposals for Development of Training Module on Sustainable Development Goals for Local Government.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been adopted by the development community and 193 member states of the United Nations as the development agenda from 2015 to 2030.
The development of a training module on SDGs and local governments is aimed at helping local governments understand the menu of SDGs and indicators and the commitment of the Government of India in achieving SDGs. The orientation is intended to:
a) Aid local governments in prioritizing SDGs, adapt indicators locally and prepare local plans towards achievement of those SDGs.
b) Provide an overview of the SDGs, its alignment to national and state priorities, and its relevance at the local level.
c) Elaborate the process of preparing SDG based Panchayat plan.
d) Elaborate the role of elected leaders in achieving SDGs and explain the steps to achieve the targets such as visioning, establishing baselines for goals and targets, linking schemes to the goals, identifying gaps, resource allocation, implementing, monitoring and reporting.
