APSSDC signed MoU with Power Finance Corporation to skill train Andhra youth under their CSR initiative

Amaravati : Power Finance Corporation (New Delhi) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) for providing skill development training to the rural youth for which Rs 5 crore will be spent.

The representatives of Power Finance Corporation (PFC) headed by its director D Ravi met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Secretariat on Monday and in his presence a MoU was signed.

Briefing the CM about PFC activities, Ravi said that as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during last year they constructed toilets in 8,300 schools in AP at a cost of Rs 178 crore. During this year PFC will undertake the responsibility of providing skill development training to the rural youth for creating employment opportunities to them, he said.

While hailing the efforts of the state government in implementing skill development programme, he said AP is the only state where they are spending highest funds under CSR in the country. He lauded the reforms initiated by AP in power sector and termed it as a role model for the country. The 8-month training programme will be beneficial to 2,550 youth including school and college dropouts, unemployed graduates studying engineering, polytechnic, ITI and other technical courses.
