VGuard Industries partnered IAF to skill unemployed youths under CSR program

New Delhi : VGUARD Industries Limited is one of the leading manufacturer of pumps, water heaters, fans, stabilizers and other electrical equipment. Headquartered in Kochi Kerala it has service centres across the country.

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, it has partnered with Indraprastha Academy Foundation (IAF) to skill unemployed youth as service technician on their products. CSR programs are being run in Noida, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Hubli.

The initiative is a one-month residential program where free of cost food and lodging along with training materials like uniform, books etc is being provided. These students would also be provided On-Job-Training at service centres of VGUARD where they will also be paid stipend.

The first batch with 25 students was inaugurated on 27th November 2017 at Indraprastha Academy Corporate Centre at Noida in presence of officials from VGUARD Industries Limited, Indraprastha Academy Foundation, Power Sector Skill Council and National Skill Development Corporation. After first batch in Noida similar centres are being established in Kochi, Hubli and Bhubaneswar.

The trainees belongs to underprivileged class where father of these kids are street fruit hawkers, landless farmers, etc. Ajith Kumar an orphan worked as security guard to earn his living. Now he is being provided fee of cost food and residence along with employment in VGUARD.
