Apprenticeship programme ‘ArtsPlace’ applications open for youth at Arts Council

The Rockford Area Arts Council is accepting applications for ArtsPlace, a summer arts apprenticeship program for youth 14-18 years of age. Youth work under the direction of professional artists to create art to sell and perform for the public. ArtsPlace increases artistic skills and provides work experience for future employment and college applications.

ArtsPlace will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, from June 20 through Aug. 8. Applications are available on the Arts Council website www.artsforeveryone.com and at the Arts Council office, 713 E. State St., Rockford. The Early Bird deadline is May 2. Application received after May 2 will be considered if space is available.
