Islamabad : National Integrated Development Association (NIDA-Pakistan) in collaboration with USAID Small Grants and Ambassador’s Fund Program (SGAFP) has launched the seven (07) month project titled “Female Youth Empowerment through Marketable Skill Trainings”.
An official of NIDA said that this initiative will improve Socioeconomic status of women is poor because of low literacy rate, lack of educational facilities, awareness, poor economic condition, lack of skills and insecure environment of the society for working women.
He said that the overall objective of the project is ‘to strengthen the processes that promote economic development of women and create an environment for social change’, while the specific objective is to improve social & economic conditions of 80 females through vocational & entrepreneurial skills training.
He said that that aim of this project is Improve socio-economic conditions of 80 marginalized women through training in Advance Boutique Tailoring and Hand/Machine Embroidery.
There will be active collaboration with key stakeholders such as Local CBOs, Local women groups, District Social welfare Office,elected representatives (District/ Tehsil Nazim. Nazim/ Naib Nazim of Village Council/ Neighborhood Council, NGO’s and UN agencies and other relevant stakeholders, he told.
The Proposed Project will improve socio-economic condition of local female youth and will link them to local market for sustainable livelihoods and income generation, project will mainstream the Female in income generation and social entrepreneurship, he added.
