Job title: Field coordinator – Project Pehchaan
Project Overview:
We are now starting a new project, Project Pehchaan, through which we will support women who do home based work such as lac bangle making, karchop embroidery, tailoring, garlic peeling and other such economic activities. Kriti plans interventions like SHG formation of these women, getting their artisan cards, government program linkages, market linkages and capacity building of artisans. This project will be carried out in the old city area.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education and Competences:
- Bachelors degree in social work or related field
- Strong communication skills in Hindi and Telugu
Experience:
- 1- 2 years of experience of working in the field with the marginalised community
- Experience of conducting surveys
- Experience in skill development programs livelihood linkages will be a plus
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identification of a suitable place for field office and project
- selection of slums- profiling of slums
- Conduct HH surveys
- Help in identification of suitable rooms for field office and trainings
- Mobilisation of women for training:
- Dissemination of information through slum leaders, any centres present in the slum
- Distribution of pamphlets for mobilizing women
- Home visits to talk to women about the training and courses
- Identification/formation of SHGs and linkage to banks
- Identify the SHGs already functioning in the slum
- Linkage to banks and GHMC if needed
- Formation of new SHGS
- Organizing SHG meetings :
- Prepare a calendar for SHG meetings
- Facilitate regular group meetings
- Maintain SHG records
- Organizing capacity building trainings/workshop
- Arrange logistics for training
- Inform participants for the training
- Documentation of the training
- Coordination of training centres (Tailoring training centres) (Other than project pehchaan, there will be 3 more training centres)
- Coordinate with the trainers for any requirement
- Mobilisation of candidates for the training
- Enrolment of students for the training
- Facilitation for making of artisan cards/market linkage
- Visit development commissioner for liaising
- Visit boutiques/shops for getting orders
- Organise the documents of the women for making artisan cards
Compensation: Based on experience and ability to take on program responsibility
About Organization:
Kriti is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes skills training and livelihoods for women and education of children. We have been working in Hyderabad slums since 2009. Kriti has trained over 700 women in tailoring, hand embroidery and paper bag making since 2015. In the last year alone, Kriti has trained 300 women through four vocational training centers in the Tolichowki area.
