Vijayawada : The Andhra Pradesh Private Engineering Colleges Management Association (APPECMA) in association with the Krishna District Engineering Colleges will set up a Skill Development Centre to empower the educated youth into employable graduates. The centre will bring the training and placement cell services to the students of all the engineering colleges to a whole new level.
President of APPECMA M Srinivasa Babu said that the skill centre concept is inspired by Prime Minister’s Kaushal Bharath Mission. “Under the skill centre, we want students to acquire the much needed skills that include communication, presentation, language and other technical skills which would be offered for free,” he said.
Training would be imparted to the final year candidates of all engineering colleges at these centre which organizes placements for them. NC companies and regional, local start-ups would be a part of it, said Srinivasa Babu. He further stated that the district have more number of full-fledged colleges which are better than most universities.
Since the administration of the State is shifting to the capital region, the operations of APPECMA shall also function from Vijayawada. The office is established at Kanuru in the city and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister, he added. General Secretary of the association Sridhar Mandava, treasurer V Subramanyam and management heads of the private colleges were present.
