Haryana government to establish 21 new ITIs, will also setup 2-wheeler driving training centers for girls

Chandigarh : The state government has drawn up a plan to establish 21 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and upgrade 24 others. This will be done under schemes implemented by the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department.

A government spokesman said 11 ITIs started operations from the 2018-19 academic session. In all, 10 ITIs in the private sector were also launched in the same academic session.

The spokesman said a letter of understanding had been signed among the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Skill Development and Industrial Training Department and Hero Moto Corp Limited to provide driving skills to girls by setting up two-wheeler driving training centres.

The centres will be established in 21 women ITIs in Ambala, Sonepat, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Narnaul, Rewari, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Kaithal, Charkhi Dadri, Dumerkhan, Jind, Ferozepur Jhirka, Kurukshetra, Kalka, Tohana, Bahadurgarh and Sirsa.
