Haryana Government to launch 150 skill development programs soon : Chief Minister

Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Monday announced that 150 training programmes in skill development would be soon launched in the state.

The Chief Minister was speaking after felicitating 15 skilled youth selected under the World Skills Competition: India Skills West 2018’ at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi.

Manohar Lal congratulated all winners selected under the competition and wished them a bright future.

Notably, the State Government has set a target to provide employment to two lakh unemployed youth of the state by December 31 and impart skill training to 1.15 lakh youth during 2018-19.

While the ‘Saksham Yuva Yojana’ is being implemented to provide hundred hours of paid work every month to the educated unemployed youth, the State Government is exploring to enhance the skills and provide job opportunities to the youth in the colleges of Haryana.

Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training, Employment, TC Gupta, informed that in the India skill West Competition, Haryana has bagged maximum positions after Maharashtra for participation in the World Skill Competition to be held in Kazan, Russia.

Shri Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor , Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, congratulated winners of Skill India Competition. He highlighted the initiatives of skills university and scope of opportunities for skilled youth.

The youth who secured first position in the “World Skills Competition: India Skills West 2018’ are included Manoj Kumar (electronics), Sonu Lathar (auto body repair), Ritesh Yadav (web designing and development), Roshan (carpentry), Vinod (plumbing), Prince Kumar (cooking) and Jagat Yadav (restaurant services), he added.
