Shri Vishwakarma Skill University forged 3 industry-academia partnerships for automotive sector

Gurugram : With an intent to bridge the skill gaps in automotive sector through industry need specific B.Voc. and D.Voc programs,   Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) joined hands with 3 leading automotive sector groups on Thursday, March 7th.

First MoU was signed with Sh. Sumit Bhatnagar Group Head-HR, Anand Group, the owners of Gabriel India Ltd, Mahle Anand filter System and Anand Cymyutec located in Gurugram to design and develop Skill based programs in B.Voc. (Mechatronics) to facilitate/ offer on-the-job training, knowledge transfer, learning and skill building, training / internships to the selected batch of students who shall be enrolled by the University into various skill development programs offered by the University from time to time.

Second MoU under this industry-academia alliance was signed with Jai Bharat Maruti (JBM) Group for developing short-term skill development programs in Welding and Machining etc.to facilitate/ offer on-the-job training, knowledge transfer, learning and skill building, trainings/ internships to the selected batch of students who shall be enrolled by the University into various skill development programs offered by the University from time to time.

Third industry-academia partnership was forged with Roop Automotives Limited for D.Voc. (Automotive Component Manufacturing) to facilitate/ offer on-the-job training, knowledge transfer, learning and skill building, training/ internships to the selected batch of students who shall be enrolled by the University into various skill development programs offered by the University from time to time. Sh. Arvind Chourasia DGM-IR of Roop Industries signed the MoU.

Dr. Ritu Bajaj along with Dean Academics Dr. R.S. Rathore signed all these three an Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) in the august presence of Sh. Raj Nehru, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University.

Sh. Raj Nehru Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SVSU said that the University is keen to impart skills to students that they could use to earn while pursuing technical degrees at the university. The courses have been designed by both Anand Group and SVSU so that the gap between education and  employability can be bridged, giving the students job opportunities after completion of the courses. This dual education application based programme will provide on-job training and earning opportunity for the selected students. The courses have been designed in a way that the students can earn while they learn, he added.

SVSU is a university established by the Government of Haryana and engaged in developing courses and programs in entrepreneurship and skill based education in the emerging areas of various sectors and imparting skill based education to the students. The University offers dual vocational education model in the integrated work and study mode in accordance with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), where students will work in the industries across various locations in the State of Haryana with flexible class timings.

The students, who shall be 12th pass would be selected through an aptitude test and/ or educational qualification and physical fitness test for SVSU’s Diploma, Advance Diploma and Degree as per the University norm in Automotive programmes from July 2019.
