Jammu : Promoting rural development through entrepreneurship, the Army today initiated skill development courses for the youth belonging to remote villages of Rajouri and Reasi districts.
Under the flagship development programme of Sadbhavna, the Rashtriya Rifles Battalions at Jhangar and Talwara, are conducting skill development courses on repairs of Electrical Motor, Electrical Transformer, Tractor, Power Tiller and Irrigation Pump Sets.
The cadre is likely to give a fillip to the employment dream of many a youth in the region since the subjects have a vast potential for entrepreneurship as well as employment in the Government and private sector industries in the region.
67 youth from nine villages of Jhangar in Rajouri district and 14 villages of Talwara in Reasi district are attending the courses.
Inaugurating the cadre, officials from the Army exhorted the youth to work hard and work selflessly with an endeavor to take the state of Jammu and Kashmir among the list of developed states. He emphasized on education and employment as the key to growth of any society.
