Dimapur : Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK)- a Model Skill Development Training Centre in Dimapur was inaugurated by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Neiphiu Rio as the chief guest.
It is an initiative of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship & NSDC. The Centre is spread in an area of 5,000 sqft in Dimapur with the target to provide training and employment to 6,000 candidates in 3 years in 5 job roles in various sectors including beauty, tourism and hospitality, electronics, telecom etc.Orion will provide short term skill training for 10-12 weeks and provide self employment opportunities to school/college dropouts and unemployed youth and women under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojna.
The training will be completely free of cost and subsidised by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. Assessment will be done by respective sector skill council and candidate will get certificates from NSDC. More than 500 unemployed youth attended the event for enrollment in various job roles.
Orion Edutech has mandate to skill 2 million candidates and will be setting 34 model skill training centers within 2022. Orion Edutech will be setting up l0 multi skill development training in Kohima and other part of Northeast by December 2016. It is aimed at providing skill and employment opportunity to more than 1 lakh unemployed youth within next 3 years. Orion Vice President, Nitin Agarwal, was also present in the event.
