Punjab Skill Mission, ASSOCHAM set to launch Centre of Excellence

Phagwara: Punjab Skill Development Mission in collaboration with Association of Chamber and Commerce Kapurthala (ASSOCHAM) is all set to launch the “Centre of Excellence” for the purpose of training the unemployed youth of the district.

Director, Punjab Skill Development Mission Deepti Uppal today visited Ramgarhia ITI to review the progress of “Center of Excellence” Phagwara. “It was very important to make the unemployed youth of the district skilled to earn their livelihood and the Punjab Skill Development Mission is fully committed to this”, she said.

She said that the centre would offer 3 month certificate courses of Machine Operator and Electric and Electronics Assembly (Fitter) will to prepare skilled manpower for industry in Phagwara and nearby cities. Age limit for admission in these courses will be 18-35 years and minimum educational qualification would be 10th.

The centre will be inaugurated by the Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department Punjab Mr. Aman Arora shortly.
