Maharashtra Govt., UNDP and Godrej & Boyce joined hands to guide and develop skills of youth in the state

Mumbai : State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship department and UNDP has now signed a memorandum of understanding with Godrej and Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd to skill, train and guide the youth in Maharashtra.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship minister Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar along with company’s Chairman and Managing Director Pheroza Godrej, MSSDS CEO E Ravindran and Aafreen Siddiqui of UNDP.

“We will work together jointly on special industry linked models in the field of furniture and fittings as Godrej is a leading name in the manufacturing sector. Our partners will also explore areas of collaboration in a project for creating opportunities for women by United Nations Development Program,” said Mr Nilangekar.

Beside this the biggest retail store chain in USA, Walmart signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra in presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday. This will facilitate 15 modern wholesale cash and carry stores in the state.

“The wholesale cash and carry stores by Walmart India will bring in investment of Rs 900 crore and generate 30,000 jobs in Maharashtra,” Mr Fadnavis said.

Principal Secretary Pravinsingh Pardeshi, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Sunil Porwal, Industries Development Commissioner Harshdip Kamble and Walmart’s India head Krish Iyer were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
