Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI), a sector Skill Council for Food Processing Industry invites proposals from Food Processing Industries/ Industry Associations for empanelment with FICSI for providing domain skilling and employment under Recruit-Train Deploy (RTD) model and Upskilling of the existing employees under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) through Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 4.0)
The ultimate goal under this skill initiative is to build skilled work force to cater the specific job requirements of Food Processing industry under the national mission of Skill India. The Industry/Industry Association can directly partner with FICSI and can build skilled work force and upskill the existing wok force as per their domain requirement for their consumption as well as for consumption of industries in the Food Processing sector.
The salient features of the Skill Training program under PMKVY 4.0:
- Recruit-Train Deploy (RTD) Project has the provision of recruiting the candidates and providing the offer letters upfront and then providing Industry relevant training before deploying the candidates at their work location.
For the specific purpose of RTD model, Employment will mean wage employment only. - FICSI has developed 5 customized courses with High Employability with the course duration of 210 Hours (90 Hours of Domain Training and 120 Hours of training of Employability module), which will be used to impart skill training under the RTD mode. Details about these customised Job Roles are attached as Annexure – II
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Project has the provision of upskill the existing employees by providing up-skill training in Food Processing Job Roles and certifying them through an assessment post training.
- FICSI has 21 customized courses with High Employability. The course duration of the RPL program will be minimum 30 Hours, which will be used to upskill the candidates under the RTD mode. Details about these customised Job Roles are attached as Annexure – III
- The candidate enrolment should be as per the capacity of the Training Centre on Skill India Portal (https://skillindia.nsdcindia.org/) and E-KYC would be done for the candidates.
- The Skill Training will be conducted within the industry premises.
- Post completion of the skill training, FICSI will conduct the assessment & certification of the trainees and Skill India certification will be provided to the successful candidates.
- The skill/upskill training cost per candidate will be paid to the industry/industry association as per the PMKVY 4.0 guidelines for the no. of training targets allocated by FICSI.
- A Letter of Understanding will be signed between the Industry and FICSI, once the training plan is finalized and targets are allocated to the identified industries.
Interested Food Processing Industries/Industries with annual turnover of Rs. 5 crore or above having demand of skilled manpower may submit their proposals at tarun@ficsi.in in the prescribed format (Annexure – I) on the company letterhead with the interest to get empanelment with FICSI for skill training and employment in RTD model under PMKVY 4.0. There is no fee for Food Processing Industries/Industry Associations to submit their Expression of Interests (EoI).
