DGT changes Nomenclature and Course duration for various CTS trades

Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship held a meeting at New Delhi headquarters to discuss “Changes proposed i.e. nomenclature of trade, change of group and duration in CTS trades as recommended by different Trade Committee meetings”.

Based on the suggestion, committee approved the changes to CTS trades listed as under:

Architectural Draftmanship : Trade is renamed as “Architectural Draughtsman“, its duration is increased from 1 year to 2 years and the bar of 40% marks in Science and Mathematics is also removed.
General Carpenter : Trade is renamed as “Carpenter
Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance : Trade group changed from Engineering Group to Non-Engineering Group

Basic Cosmetology : Trade is renamed as “Cosmetology
Pre/Preparatory School Management Assistant : Trade is renamed as “Early Childhood Educator
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning : Trade is renamed as “Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician
Mechanic Motor Cycle : Trade is renamed as “Mechanic Two and Three Wheeler
Milk and Milk Products : Trade is renamed as “Milk and Milk Product Technician
Plumber : Sanitary Hardware Fitter merged with Plumber Trade.

Directorate has requested all State / UTs Directorates / RDSDEs / Directors / HoDs / Principals of NSTIs dealing with Craftsmen Training Scheme are requested to include the above in their database and ensure that the same shall be included while publication of advertisement for the admission.
