Jamshedpur: JN Tata Vocational Training Institute (JNTVTI) is aiming to train 15000 youths in the next three years in skills associated with the industrial training sectors.
‘We will be providing skill development opportunities to 5000 youths every year for the next three years and the target for this year is 800’, said Prakash Singh, Chief, Capability Development, Tata Steel.
Addressing a press conference at SNTI on Thursday, Singh said, admission to 360 seats for courses under the industrial training sectors has already started and will be open till October 20, 2017. Admission is open to all the youths from Jharkhand and interested students can visit the website www.jntvti.com.
Singh further said that admission in courses- Rigger which is a 5 months duration course with minimum education qualification required is matric and the course fee is Rs 10000.
For the 5 months Safety Supervisor course the minimum qualification required is intermediate with science and the course fee is Rs 15000. The classes for the all the above courses will begin by December 15.
He informed that for the 12 months course of Welder cum gas Cutter, Electrical fitter and Mechanical fitter cum Rigger the minimum qualification required is matric and the course fee is Rs 20000 for each.
‘JNTVTI is different from other Vocational Training Institute’s because we first tie up with the recruiters and hold discussions about the CTC they will offer to the trainees once they complete their course. This is the reason why the first batch of thirty four students who were enrolled in courses (Welder cum gas Cutter, Electrical fitter and Mechanical fitter cum Rigger) have been successfully placed with vendor partners. Placement for current batch concluded today in existing courses has been 100% with average CTC offered being Rs. 2.16 Lacs per annum’, informed Prakash Singh.
Capability Development chief further said, ‘We aim to identify Jharkhand youths and provide them training and which in turn helps them provide a job’. After successful completion of training and assessment, certificates will be awarded by JN Tata Vocational Training Institute.
Singh went on to say that JNTVTI was established as a public charitable trust driven by the Capability Development Department of Tata Steel in 2015. The objective of the Trust is to provide skill-based vocational training in various sectors for employability and entrepreneurship opportunities to the eligible and interested youth.
The Trust intends to impart such vocational training under various skill development schemes run by the Central and State Governments. An MoU has also been signed between the Trust and The Govt. of India under the Flexi-MoU Scheme run by the latter, noted Singh.
