Healthcare Future with IoT, the Skill Centre Perspective - An Article by Sandeep Kumar Skill Educator; read more at skillreporter.com

As an educator at a skill development centre I see how our youth can make a difference with technology. One exciting area is the use of IoT in healthcare in a country like India.

India has a problem with not having enough healthcare professionals. According to a report by NITI Aayog we have one doctor for every 1,457 people and 1.7 nurses for every 1,000 people. This is much lower than what the World Health Organization recommends. IoT can help solve this problem. It lets us monitor patients in time using wearable devices, smart hospital equipment and diagnostics that use artificial intelligence.

In areas, where most of India’s population lives IoT can help bridge the gap in healthcare between cities and rural areas. We can monitor patients from city hospitals and elderly people can get care at home using sensors that track their vital signs. We can also use data to find out if someone has a chronic disease like diabetes or hypertension.

IoT helps us monitor health in time using wearable devices, smart hospital equipment and remote diagnosis of patients. In the future we may be able to monitor patients in areas from city hospitals. Elderly people can also get care at home using sensors and we can use data to find out early if someone has a disease.

A report by PwC says that IoT in healthcare can create value of up to $50 billion in India by 2026. This change in technology is not improving patient outcomes but it is also creating new jobs. We need people to work on devices maintain networks, analyze data coordinate remote healthcare and integrate systems.

This is not about using fancy devices. It is about making healthcare affordable, convenient and effective for everyone. It will also create career opportunities for skilled professionals like technicians, device operators and data coordinators. These are the careers we are preparing our students for at our centre.

To make the most of this India needs to invest in data security, digital infrastructure and skill training. The combination of healthcare and technology is going to happen. Our young people need to be ready to drive it.

With a thinking approach, vision and proper education IoT can help fill the gap, in Indias healthcare and create a healthier future.
