Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Master of Education min. 55%. Additional Master Degree in Science or Arts.

Skills required:
— Great interest in education and openness and curiosity for new methodologies in teacher training.
— Willingness and ability to lead a group of student teachers in a modern way, as an equal part of the group and not as a traditional teacher.
— Interest in and knowledge of India and the World, both past, present and future.
— A broad outlook and capacity to grasp and analyze issues.
— Good command of Hindi, basic and working knowledge of English speaking and writing.
— Willingness to work as a team with other Teacher Educators as well as to live and assume duties in a team guesthouse.
— Flexibility of mind

Overview: To work as a new kind of Teacher Educator where the Teacher Educator works with a number of groups of 4-6 students within a class/section of 40-50 students, in a student driven and programme based training. The training involves a dialectic process between theory and practice and includes studies, research, travel, community work and outreach work.

Roles and Responsibilities:
— Work as a teacher educator – also called core group teacher – for one or more core groups of each 40-50 students. Work together with the students in smaller groups of 4-6 – function groups – to plan and implement the training programme.
— Give courses in subject matter, themes and bigger topics of our day within Education, India and the World.
— Lead extracurricular activities such as community actions and events, shorter and longer investigations, outreach work, Open Days, etc.

Remuneration: Salary is negotiable. Salary as per industry norms.

Humana People to People India (HPPI) is registered as a not-for-profit company under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 since 21st May 1998.

HPPI works in India across 9 states, running 57 projects funded by international and national funding agencies, public and private bodies reaching close to 1 million people with interventions and information. The states in which HPPI is working are Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

The organization works in six areas, namely Education, Health, Environment, Livelihood, Microfinance and Community Development and is striving to achieve sustainable and equitable economic development together with and for the poor.
Since 2009 Humana People to People has developed, piloted and refined a two-year pre-service teacher training programme with the aim to prepare primary and elementary school teachers with the skills, engagement and commitment to teach in rural primary/elementary schools and in slum area primary/elementary schools, with quality. The training programme is carried out in Disctrict Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) in cooperation with institute faculty and in agreement with the SCERT of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Wishes to employ 4 full-time Teacher Educators that will train teachers for primary/elementary school, following an experimental and innovative pre-service programme leading to Diploma of Education or equivalent. Applicants without a Master of Education Degree need not apply.
