Skill Development Dept scrambles to train workers in special economic zones

Bangkok : Skill Development Department director general Kreetha Sopchoke said that the agency has organized a project to train workers in special economic development zones at regional and provincial skill development centers. The project for which a 41.6 million baht budget has been provided aims to train a total of 19,800 workers in the special economic development zones. The department has trained 11,449 workers during October 2015 – March 2016, he said.

He added that the department has opened the Skill Development Center 2 in Mae Sot district of Tak province and another one in Aranyaprathet district of Srakaew province to train workers to maintain small-sized air-conditioners and repair small engines for use in agriculture.
