Educational Qualification:
— Candidates must show evidence of significant management expertise and accomplishment. We are looking for a strong mix of innovation, self-discovery, partnership building, and leadership.
— Post-graduate degree, preferably PhD, in social work, management, human services or related field
— Willingness to learn and incorporate the best practice models of disability service, and develop a full understanding of the principles of Social Role Valorization (SRV).
Experience:
— 15-20 years relevant work experience.
— Experience working on matters related to rights of persons with disabilities is desirable.
Skills required:
— Excellent leadership and advocacy skills, able to motivate and influence change.
— Demonstrated supervisory and management skills.
— Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
— This position is performed within an office setting as well as at various locations throughout the community.
— The position requires frequent use of the telephone and computer and includes frequent national as well as some international travel.

— Willing to travel extensively within India, and occasionally outside of India – Valid passport holder a plus.
— Significant experience supervising staff and teams.
— Experience in proposal writing and fundraising.
— Able to work fluctuating work hours – evenings, early mornings, and weekends, as needed to stay connected with program leadership in the U.S.A, and as dictated by program activities and priorities.
Job Overview: A creative and dynamic person to assist people with disability to live rich, full community lives. The Associate Director will be responsible to manage the ongoing development and implementation of Keystone Institute India, an educational institute on disability, community and innovation. In this work, KII is establishing a national institute for education and consultation on disability issues, community integration and inclusion, and the establishment of effective services for people with intellectual and mental disabilities. This full-time position (40 hours/week) is based in New Delhi and reports to the Director, who is based in both India and in the U.S.A. The Associate Director will be responsible to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with people with disabilities and their families, disability advocates, government, and allied organizations. In conjunction with the Director, the Associate Director will provide strong leadership in areas including but not limited to planning, development of operational policies, budgeting, new business development and supervision of employees.
Roles and Responsibilities:
— Manage the day to day operations of Keystone Institute India which provides consultation and values-based educational events to professionals, families and advocates in the disability field.
— Establish and maintain effective relations with key relevant others including funders, elected and appointed officials, other organizations, persons with disabilities and their families.
— In collaboration with the Director, participate in strategic planning, understanding priorities and using the information in decision making.
— Communicate the organization’s Vision and purpose in a manner that encourages commitment to the Mission of Keystone.
— In collaboration with community partners, provide advocacy and education in support of inclusion and the rights of persons with disabilities. Provide ongoing outreach on the importance of community supports to strengthen the inclusion for persons with disabilities in community life.
— Network with lawmakers, government officials, community leaders, activists and the public at large to promote the Institute’s services as a catalyst for change.
— Participate in the leading or facilitating of workshops, retreats and groups. Identify and support the mentoring of emerging leaders, and cultivate learning across Keystone Institute India events.
— Facilitate optimal settings and conditions for high quality learning events.
— Develop opportunity for new workshops, publications and reports to enhance the ability of the KII to reach broad audience.
— Maintain and cultivate relationships with national and international disability experts.
— Assist in the development of grant proposals and plans for programs and services.
— Provide effective leadership in continuously improving the quality of programs and events including a clear definition of quality, effective measurement, reporting and analysis.
— In conjunction with the Director, establish policies and procedures in a manner that is consistent with the Keystone Human Services Board policies.
— Manage the day to day operations of the program including oversight of resources and office operations.
— Lead, guide and direct employees to assist them in continued growth and success in performing job duties.
— Implement an effective system of financial and budgetary controls, policies, and reporting to assure that financial operations conform with general accounting principles.
— Develop budgets as required. Assure expenditures remain within approved budget limits.
— Assure fiscal operations conform to contract and regulatory requirements. Complete and submit required reports in a timely fashion.
— Work collaboratively with the Keystone Human Services International to increase the private and corporate support for program services.
— Assure that KII operates in conformance with applicable laws, regulations and contracts
— Participate in a continuous process of professional development, keeping abreast of industry trends, philosophy and state of the art practices.
— Maintain a high standard of professionalism, acting as a role model and advocate in the promulgation of organization values.
— Assure the confidentiality of records and information.
