Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken the lead amongst the CAPFs and all police departments by signing an MoU with the Ministry of Skill Development to fulfill the dream of the Prime Minister to make India a skilled nation under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
CRPF, the largest paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, with a pan India presence is shouldering the onerous responsibility of securing the country from any internal strife. With its presence across the length and breadth of the country, even in the remotest areas, it can play a pivotal role in extending the benefits of skill development schemes proposed under PMKVY, to not just the tribal of Maoist affected areas, but even to the youth of North East and Jammu and Kashmir.
The beneficiaries of the Skill Development Programme would be spouses of CRPF personnel, disabled personnel, widows of martyrs, wards of CRPF personnel or interested civilians. They would be trained in apparel making, automobile, beauty and wellness, food processing, IT in various CRPF groups and centres or establishments across the country.
The force would also extend the requisite security and support to skill development trainers who would be visiting the hitherto inaccessible interior areas in remote villages to impart the skills to the tribal population. By joining hands with the Ministry of Skill Development, the CRPF will not only help the Prime Minister realize his cherished dream, but it would also succeed in building bridges with the otherwise alienated population and earning their trust and loyalty.
On this occasion, the MoU was signed and exchanged in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the minster for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Senior officers of MHA and MSDE along with DG CRPF K Durga Prasad were present at the occasion.
