Assam Government to set up Skill University at cost of 850 Crore : AP Tiwari

Guwahati : Assam government will set up a Skill University at the cost of 850 crore rupees at Darrang district.

Participating in an AIR talk show, Mission Director of Assam Skill Development Mission, AP Tiwari said that the proposed institution will be known as Skill City.

This will be perhaps the first skill university of the country with a capacity of 10 thousand seats. He also said that International Yoga Day will be observed at 459 centres of the Skill Development Mission.

Mr Tiwari said the admission test for the first batch of the North East Skill Centre will be held on 30th of this month. He said 80 per cent seats will be reserved for Assam and rest 20 per cent for other North Eastern states.
