Union Budget 2026–27 is a landmark, Yuva Shakti–driven roadmap that places the textile and apparel ecosystem at the centre of India’s journey toward Viksit Bharat. On behalf of AMHSSC, I congratulate PM Narendra Modi ji and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ji for a visionary strategy for this labour-intensive sector. Union Budget 2026–27 sends a strong and positive signal on India’s commitment to manufacturing-led growth, with skill development firmly at the core. For the automotive sector, the focus on strategic manufacturing, MSME strengthening and education-to-employment alignment builds confidence in India’s position as a global hub for manufacturing and innovation. Investments in advanced manufacturing, clean mobility, EVs, batteries and capital goods will create new opportunities across the value chain. The renewed emphasis on industry-aligned, modular skilling and centres of excellence is timely, and will help build a future-ready workforce equipped with new-age technologies, improving employability and long-term competitiveness of the automotive ecosystem.

Union Budget 2026–27 reinforces India’s ambition to emerge as a global leader in electronics and semiconductors and marks a defining moment for skills-led growth. India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 will reshape skill demand across chip design, fabrication support and electronics manufacturing. Enhanced allocation for the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme will deepen the ecosystem and create strong demand for skilled manpower across consumer, automotive and industrial electronics. ESSCI remains committed to building a future-ready workforce and sustainable careers for India’s youth.

A key signal from the Union Budget 2026–27 marks an important shift by acknowledging caregiving as skilled, professional work rather than informal, unskilled and purely familial tasks. The focus on training 1.5 lakh caregivers, reinforces the need for structured skilling frameworks, nationally recognised certification, and dignified career pathways for care professionals. This emphasis strengthens the foundation of India’s rapidly growing care economy and supports workforce formalisation. Further, the proposed encouragement for CSR investments in vocational training creates meaningful opportunities to channel private-sector participation towards structured skilling initiatives for domestic workers and caregivers, improving employability, service quality, and long-term sustainability of the care sector.
