Government working on the mission to establish “Hunar Hab” in all states : Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

New Delhi : Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that government is working on the mission to establish “Hunar Hab” (Talent Hub) in all states for skill development of indigenous artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts as per the needs of the market. Mr Naqvi was speaking on the occasion of the formal inauguration of “Hunar Haat” at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. It will continue till 10th of November.

Mr Naqvi said that in the first 100 days of Modi Sarkar-2, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has approved 100 skill Hubs for different parts of the country. The “Hunar Haat” has proved to be a very successful scheme to provide employment opportunities to the traditional artisans in every corner of the country.

The Minister informed that over 2 lakh 50 thousand artisans, craftsmen, chefs and people associated with them have got employment opportunities through more than a dozen “Hunar Haats” organized in various economic centers of the country during the last 3 years. A large number of women artisans have also been benefited by these Haats. Mr Naqvi said, the Modi Government will provide employment opportunities to lakhs of artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts through Hunar Haat in the next 5 years.

More than 300 artisans, craftsmen and chefs from all corners of the country, including large number of women artisans, are participating in the “Hunar Haat” being held at Prayagraj. All the “Hunar Haat” of 2019-2020 will be based on the theme of “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”. Mr Naqvi said, it has proved to be an “Empowerment and Employment Exchange” of craftsmen and artisans. The Minister added that Hunar Haat has become an authentic and credible brand in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of “Make in India”, “Stand Up India”, “Start Up India”.

Mr. Naqvi said that in the next 5 years, his Ministry will organize about 100 “Hunar Haat” in different parts of the country. In the coming days, “Hunar Haat” will be organized in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Nagpur, Raipur, Hyderabad, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jammu, Shimla, Goa, Kochi, Guwahati, Ranchi, Bhubaneshwar and Ajmer. The next “Hunar Haat” will take place between 14 to 27 November at Pragati Maidan in Delhi and from 20 to 31 December in Mumbai.
