A skill development and entrepreneurship training programme on beauty care and cosmetology for persons with disabilities was inaugurated by Manoj Das, Director of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship(IIE). Arman Ali, Executive Director, Shishu Sarothi, and Shantanu Mohan Deka, assistant faculty members of IIE were also present at the event.On the occasion, the Director stated the importance of skill development programmes for persons with disabilities (PwDs) to empower themselves and secure livelihood opportunities. The one-and-a-half-months skill development and entrepreneurship programme is a basic level training for persons with disabilities, which will help in building skills that will eventually be used professionally. According to the organisers, the training programme will empower persons with disabilities for self-sustainable livelihood opportunities. It aims to improve vocational training and employment opportunities for people with disability, enhancing the quality of life for the individuals with disabilities, their families, and ensure a source of sustainable livelihood. Also, twenty-five female participants from various socio-economic backgrounds across the city registered for this training programme.
