Overwhelming response to ITI admissions in Maharashtra, government extended last date of online application

Kolhapur : For just around 1.3 lakh seats available more than 3 lakh students have registered for the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) admission process this year till June 30 across the state, data from the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) revealed.

Foreseeing the heavy response this year, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) has extended the application date for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses by six days — from July 2 to July 8.

According to the data available, 3.04 lakh students have submitted their applications and 1.77 lakh students have confirmed their applications.

This year, the online admission process has seen higher application rate across the state. “It will prove to be a healthy competition,” said an official from the DVET, adding that after registering online, students have to confirm it by producing the respective documents to proceed further. The preliminary merit list, after the scrutiny of the forms, will now be published on 11 July instead of previously declared July 6.

According to the DVET deputy director, Yogesh Patil, there are around 1.3 lakh seats available in over 400 ITI institutes across the state. State government has added 7000 more seats this year. “The admission and confirmation rate has improved as the last date is inching closer,” said the official.

What new circular from DVET says ?

The application fee for unreserved category is Rs 150 and for reserved category students it is Rs 100. After registering online, students will have to confirm it by producing documents to proceed further — the last date for which now been extended to July 8. The options for the institute preference will have to be confirmed by July 9. The preliminary merit list of the application will be published on July 11 at 11 am. Students can register their grievances or discrepancies on the merit list on July 12 and 13, if any, followed by which the final merit list will be drawn on July 15.

The circular also said that aspirants can call on helpline number 18001201696 for any query regarding the admission process. It should be noted that the ITI admission process began across the state from June 19. There are over 1.30 lakh seats available in over 400 institutes.

It added that further schedule will be declared later on the website http://admission.dvet.gov.in and students need to register their primary mobile number in the application as the regular updates about the process will be sent via SMS on that number.
