Recruitment drive organized under NSDC Udaan to facilitate employment to Kashmiri youth

Srinagar : The recruitment drive for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir under Udaan scheme held in Kashmir University (KU) on Tuesday. The officials of Udaan during the drive said that around 200 youth applied for recruitment in a wide range of sectors including banking, finance, hospitality, education, IT/ITES and other sectors as well.

The recruitment drive was scheduled under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) which is the implementing agency of Udaan project.

NSDC state engagement officer for J&K, Kehkasha Anjum on the occasion said, “We are proudly launching this phase of Udaan and today we have our 34 corporate partners who have helped us train and place the young talent from Kashmir.”

“Under this project Udaan we have 86 companies we recruit people for different locations in different companies,” she added.

One of the officials of Udaan on the occasion said, “Under the Udaan the youth are been trained for 3-6 months and during training, there is skill development and skill enhancement and after that, the youth are placed in different corporate.”

Under the Udaan project scheme, the NSDC and Ministry of Home Affairs have been mandated to work with the corporate sector in reforming the unemployment issues in Jammu and Kashmir. “Due to the lack of the private corporate in Kashmir we are recruiting and placing the youth of Kashmir outside the state to give them a better exposure”, he added.
