South Central Railway (SCR) to impart free skill development training to unemployed youth

Hyderabad : South Central Railway (SCR) plans to tie up with agencies under the Ministry of Skill Development to impart free skill development programmes to the unemployed youth to help them avail job opportunities, said general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav on Thursday.

Addressing the inaugural session of the 47th Annual General Council of SCRMU at Rail Nilayam, he said more programmes like the job and passport melas would be held for the welfare of the employees and their families. In fact, the responsible and cooperative role played by the recognized trade unions like SCR Mazdoor union towards maintaining congenial industrial relations ensured SCR was one of the best zones in Indian Railways.

Growth so far this year has been 12 % in the gross, originating from the earnings between April to July 2017, with the revenue reaching ₹4,320 crore. Employees have been instrumental in the rise in both freight and passenger traffic, he acknowledged.

From the management side, there was going to be no delay in awarding promotions wherever due, so that the employees get timely benefit. About compassionate ground appointments, cases were being handled with a lot of sympathy. Health units too were being upgraded to provide best of facilities to the staff. More programmes like passport and job melas would be conducted.
