Symbiosis Foundation established German Vocational Education Model based Skill Development University

Indore : A residential Skill Development University called Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences has been established at Indore. President and founder, Symbiosis S B Mujumdar and Swati Mujumdar, Vice President, Symbiosis Foundation has established this Skill Development University based on the German model of vocational education.

With the growth in industries in the country, there is a huge need of skilled manpower in the country. Consequent reports on industry also say that India is in need of skilled manpower and this will only increase in the years to come. Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences will offer short term skill based courses as well as degree programs in high growth sectors of Automobile, Construction, Manufacturing, IT, Retail, Banking & Finance.

The university has already collaborated with over 20 leading industries in India and 12 German universities of applied Sciences. In this model of Skill Development, top industry leaders such as Reliance Capital, HDFC Bank, Future Group and Mahindra & Mahindra are also setting up their bases on the University campus, to provide skill training to students, in order to make them job ready.

With an investment of over Rs. 200 crore, Symbiosis has created a state of art infrastructure spread over 25 acres of land. Academic buildings, hostels for boys and girls, centre of excellence, specialized training labs and workshops, school of interdisciplinary sciences and community college are a hallmark of this University. It has imported specialized skill training machinery and simulators to impart hands-on practical training to its students and expected to launch its programs shortly for this academic year.
