New Delhi: In a significant move reinforcing continuity in leadership, Shri Premal Udani has been re-appointed as Chairman of the Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) for a period of two years. He succeeds Dr A Sakthivel, a veteran industry leader who has played a pivotal role in shaping skill development initiatives in the sector. A seasoned veteran with over four decades of experience in the apparel and textile industry, Udani brings with him deep domain expertise and a strong track record of industry leadership. He heads Kaytee Corporation Pvt. Ltd, one of the country’s oldest and leading garment manufacturing companies. His long-standing association with leading industry bodies, policy institutions, and trade organizations has positioned him as a key voice in shaping the growth trajectory of the sector.

During his earlier tenure as Chairman of AMHSSC, Udani provided visionary leadership and strategic direction, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the skill development ecosystem across apparel, made-ups, and home furnishing segments. His efforts were instrumental in enhancing industry alignment, scaling skilling initiatives, and promoting capacity building across the value chain. Speaking on the transition, outgoing Chairman Dr. A. Sakthivel expressed full confidence in his successor: “It has been a privilege to lead AMHSSC through a period of rapid evolution. Premal Udani’s deep-rooted understanding of the global supply chain and his commitment to the Indian apparel story make him the ideal leader to take this council to new heights. I am certain his vision will further bridge the skill gap in our industry.”
