ESDM Skill Samvad 2026

New Delhi: The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) organised ESDM Skills Samvad 2026 – Workforce Development for Viksit Bharat at The Suryaa, New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, academic experts and skilling institutions to deliberate on emerging skill requirements and workforce development priorities in India’s Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. Held under the theme “Skill Right toh (तो) Future Bright!”, the industry consultation workshop focused on bridging skill gaps, strengthening industry-academia collaboration and preparing a skilled workforce to support India’s growing electronics and semiconductor industries.

The workshop was organised with the support of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The inaugural session was attended by Ms. Nidhi Satija, Director, MSDE, as Chief Guest, Dr. Sandipann P. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the ESSCI Qualification Handbook by the dignitaries. The handbook aims to strengthen industry-aligned qualifications and provide a structured approach to developing relevant technical competencies across the electronics sector. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Madhvendra Singh, CEO, ESSCI, said, “India’s electronics and semiconductor sectors are expanding rapidly, creating new opportunities for skilled professionals. To sustain this growth, our skilling ecosystem must keep pace with changing technologies and industry requirements. ESDM Skills Samvad provides a platform for industry and academia to jointly identify future skill needs and develop training frameworks that improve employability and prepare young professionals for emerging opportunities.” The workshop featured two panel discussions examining the sector’s technological advancements and evolving talent requirements.

The technical panel, “Skills of Tomorrow: Emerging Job Roles & Future Trends in ESDM,” brought together experts from Sahasra Semiconductors, Bergen Systems, STMicroelectronics, NXP Semiconductors, Truechip Solutions, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory and Udham Singh Shaheed Skill Development & Entrepreneurship University, Punjab. Discussions focused on emerging technologies, semiconductor skills and future occupational requirements. The HR panel, “Hiring Reimagined: Talent Trends in the New Age of ESDM,” featured representatives from Manav Rachna Institute of Technology, Circulogy, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, AISECT Bhopal and Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur, alongside industry veteran Mr. Srinivasu Moturi. The discussion examined recruitment trends, employability challenges and the need for closer collaboration between employers and educational institutions.

The deliberations highlighted the importance of updating training programmes, developing industry-relevant qualifications and strengthening partnerships among government, industry and academia.

The workshop concluded with an emphasis on translating industry insights into practical skilling initiatives to build a competent, adaptable and future-ready workforce for India’s electronics sector, contributing to the broader vision of Viksit Bharat.
