Registrations open for second batch of “Suryamitra” Skill Development Programme on Solar Photovoltaic

Ministry of New & Renewable energy (MNRE), Government of India proposes to create 50,000 Suryamitras in the coming years to be acting as installation, commissioning and after sales service providers in the field of Renewable Energy with special focus on Solar.

The training programme for creating Suryamitras is co-ordinated by National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), under MNRE, Govt. of India. After this Skill Development Program the participants are skilled to install Solar PV Power Plants & maintain and gets attractive salary from the Industry. Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) is a training institute of NISE for conducting Suryamitra programme, a MNRE sponsored Solar Skill Development Program.

Duration of the programme “Suryamitra” is 600 hrs (3 months) program.

The course will focus on Skill Development on various aspects of installation and maintenance of Solar PV projects. It covers basics of technology, installation, hands on practice, preventive maintenance; trouble shooting etc. with full practical’s and hands on Training.

Eligibility criteria: The candidate should have certificate of ITI/ ITC or Diploma in Engineering branches (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics). Experienced certified electricians are also preferred. ( Engineering Graduates or persons with higher Qualifications are not eligible. )

Age Limit: The candidate should not be below 18 years.

Registration fee: Admission is free. Food and accommodation shall be provided by C-DIT without any cost to participants. Women, SC/ST, OBC candidates shall be provided important while selecting the participants.
