Position: District Project Officer – BKR
Reporting to: District Collector/ District Social Welfare
No. of vacancies: 3 (One each for Angul, Dhenkenal and Ganjam)
Type of Job: Contractual (Initially till December 2017 with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund)

Location: Bhubaneshwar

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Master’s or post graduate degree in MSW/MBA/Rural Development or other related field
Experience: 
— At least 3 years of work experience at state level or district level in social development sector.
— Experience of working with government organizations would be an added advantage.

Skills required:
— Good communication, documentation, negotiation, inter-personnel skills and team management.
— Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing programmes

The Government of Odisha, in line with the Odisha State Policy for Girls and Women 2014 announced a new scheme named Biju KanyaRatna (Amari Jhia Amari Shakti) in a campaign mode for three years in the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal and Ganjam having lowest child sex ratio in the state after Nayagarh. PREM in partnership with an international organization will be facilitating the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Odisha in implementing the Biju KanyaRatnaYojana (BKR) at state and district level. The District Project Officer will report to the District Collector/ District Social Welfare and work closely with the District Child Protection Officer designated as a nodal person for the BKR program. The Project Officers will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of BKR programme at the district level.

Roles and Responsibilities:
— Provide technical support in organizing, implementing and monitoring of planned activities under Biju KanyaRatnaprogrammes.
— In consultation with District Social Welfare Officer or District Child Protection Officer prepare monthly and quarterly activity plans for timely completion of all planned activities.
— Coordinate and liaise with other government departments and district level authorities for timely completion all the planned activities under the programme.
— Facilitate in organizing various training programme and campaigns by coordinating with other departments and ensuring their participation.
— Facilitate in organizing community level interventions involving PRI, SHG or adolescent girls and boys.
— On a monthly basis facilitate in collecting and compiling monitoring indicators from the districts.
— Document good practices, case studies or innovative ideas and send it to State Project Officer-BKR programme.
— Facilitate in establishing linkages for the benefit of adolescent girls through programmes such as Rashtriya Kishore SwasthyaKarykramaand District Skill Development initiatives.
— Participate in district and block levels task force and other meetings and highlight the progress of activities and steer discussion around girls and women issues of the districts.
— Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and submit it to District Social Welfare, State Project Officer –BKR.
— Undertake any other assignment or other program related activities as and when required by District Collector or District Social Welfare and UNFPA.

Remuneration: The consolidated remuneration for the above position ranges from Rs. 20,000 to Rs.22, 500 per month along with other allowances which will commensurate with experience and salary history of the candidate.
