Position: Project Manager- Livelihoods

Location: Faridabad, Jaipur

Eligibility Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Graduates in specialization-Social Sciences or Design (Formal training in Textile Design shall be an advantage)

Experience:
— At least 15 years of experience in working with rural production groups
— Prior experience of handicrafts/ hand-loom projects

Skills required: Fluency in written and spoken English.

Job Description: Reporting to the AGM-CSR, the PML is expected to contribute expert knowledge of traditional Indian handlooms and handicrafts, as well as prior experience of establishing viable community-based, crafts producer groups. The position calls for an outstanding livelihoods professional, with a passion for mentoring and nurturing traditional craftsmen and taking them to market.

Key Responsibilities:
— Coordination and management of product design and production (including costing), quality control and backward and forward linkages, with emphasis on sourcing of raw material;
— Coordination and management of vocational skills for training and the establishment of production groups;
— Coordination and guidance to the management and staff of different stakeholders and partners in the field, as necessary;
— Coordination and management of export orders;
— Guiding the structuring of production groups through the formation of cluster SHG and/or cooperatives;
— Coordinating the above processes at three levels – within MCEM, within the CSR Division and within the village-based production groups.

Compensation Offered: The gross remuneration budgeted for the position is attractive. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.

About CSR of Leading, Multinational, Construction Equipment Manufacturer (MCEM):

The CSR Division of India’s leading MCEM, has been engaged in developmental activities in selected villages in the hinterland of its three factories in Faridabad (Haryana), Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Pune (Maharashtra), since 2000.

The focus of the CSR Division has been the development of viable employment skills and livelihoods enhancement of poor, vulnerable groups, residing in these villages, building on their existing skills in weaving, tailoring and embroidery and printing on paper and cloth.

Livelihoods enhancement activities have included training in handloom and handicrafts, formation of self-help groups, micro enterprises, and more recently the establishment of a small, niche, handloom and handicraft brand.
