Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) to certify trained Barefoot Technicians

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) : The second batch three months training for barefoot technicians (BFTs) under MGNREGA commenced at a town hotel at Naharlagun.

Dr. VK Sharma, Senior Core Faculty of SIRD, who inaugurated the training, exhorted the participants to sincerely attend the training and acquire the required knowledge and expertise for smooth implementation of the world’s largest wage employment programme.
Dr. Sharma requested the participants to value the expectations of their nominating BDOs, parents to undergo the training and become BFTs by qualifying the certification process to be conducted by Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI).

Lecturer of DN College Dr. Madhupurna Bhattacharjee explained about BFTs. SW Bagang, AD, SIRD-cum-State Nodal Officer, BFT highlighted on course contents, which included layout, estimation and measurement of works, assistance to the existing village and block level Govt. functionaries for smooth implementation of the scheme (MGNREGS).

The participants of the second batch programme are from East Kameng, Kra Daadi, Lower Dibang Valley and Longding districts and will last till January 31, 2017.
