New Delhi Municipal Council to provide Free-of-Cost skill training to girl child of employees of weaker sections

New Delhi :  To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in it’s budget 2019-20 has proposed to undertake various programme for the benefit of the weaker sections of the society, of that, the free-of-cost skill training would be imparted to the girl child’s of safai sevaks, mallis, khallasis and beldars, working in the Council, at Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendra here.

Addressing media persons after presenting the budget of the Council here, on Tuesday, NDMC Chairperson Naresh Kumar said,”this facility would be provided to these girls, who had secured 60 percent or above marks in Class-X. And financial scholarship be also made available per month upto class-XII, who wish to pursue the recognized professional courses. The 50 per cent coaching fees would be granted by the Council at its own cost.”

”With the aim to provide better residential facilities to the Safai Sevaks, Mallis, Khallasis and Beldars, the Council had also proposed to construct Type-II flats at Sarai Kale Khan,” he said.
