Dimapur (Nagaland) : On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya interacted with a team of veterans who were led by Brig KK Roy Choudhury, SM, VSM (Retd), Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement (RSB) at the Raj Bhavan, Wednesday.
According to a Raj Bhavan press release, the governor “articulated on importance of skill education like nursing, driving, tailoring and plumber (sic) which are in great demand and will lead to employment.”
All “eligible dependents of ex-servicemen”, according to the governor, should pursue those skills. He was also stated to have “emphasized on the need for ex-servicemen fraternity to visit schools and colleges to educate the youth on scarifies made by Armed Forces in defending the country against external aggressive (sic) and share their experience.”There is also a need to ensure optimum utilization of available resource for welfare of the ex-servicemen fraternity, the governor was reported as saying.
“The governor mentioned that various facilities and schemes introduced by the central government under dynamic leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, like Jan Dhan Yojana, Insurance scheme and skill development must be availed to accrue maximum benefits.
Which is why, ex-servicemen fraternity should reach out to the population and make them understand the benefits of such schemes. Finally, (the) governor conveyed his best wishes and appreciated the contribution made by the Armed Forces and the veterans,” the press release stated.
